Packaging machinery
Start with the package, then choose the process.
The decision brief
A machine name is a poor substitute for a defined task. Record what enters the station, what it must do to the material and what an accepted pack looks like before comparing equipment. A filling station and a bag-forming system have different inputs even when both deliver a filled package.
Container geometry, product behaviour and the supplied packaging format determine which checks belong in a trial. Separate a supplier’s configurable features from what is included in the quoted equipment. Use representative samples and the actual material specification; a nominal size list leaves too much unstated.
Choose a route
Select the film or pouch route with the VFFS comparison. For a liquid filling station that already exists, use the changeover checks to verify container handling, contact parts and first-off acceptance.
| Record | Prepare | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Input sample | Bottle drawing, product sample, film roll or finished pouch | Decide whether forming or only filling and sealing is required |
| Trial record | Accepted pack criteria and observed stops | Compare the same task and material across candidate equipment |
Choose a working record
Use Filling machine changeover and first-off checks to check container fit, product-contact parts, recipe identity and first-off results before releasing a changed liquid filling setup.
Use VFFS vs premade pouch machines: choosing the format to choose a packaging route with a matched comparison of rollstock forming, premade-pouch inputs and product-specific trial requirements.
